Come Home September

September amuses in little ways
Shorter nights, cooler days
Summer dragged on longer than it should
But September is good
Gives ample space for games of true romance
Never thought I would dance
But here I am pressed, dressed ready to go
Oh you may never know
How many ways you bless and refresh me
We fit beautifully
In September’s extraordinary grace

September is probably my favorite month in Texas. Thanks for a terrific poem about it.
